Casual Tour Guides – Melbourne Walking Tours
Schools In Action is expanding our team for the 2026 Melbourne Walking Tours and is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Tour Guides to join our casual staff pool.
​
Our walking tours provide visiting school groups with an engaging and educational experience exploring Melbourne’s key landmarks, history, and culture.
​
About the Role

Lead small groups of students and teachers on walking tours around central Melbourne
-
Share knowledge about the city in an engaging and age-appropriate way
-
Represent Schools In Action in a professional and welcoming manner
-
Casual work available throughout 2026 (school terms)
-
Full training provided

Requirements

A current Working With Children Check (essential)

Experience in education, tourism, or guiding (an advantage)

Confident communication and strong interpersonal skills

Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working with school-aged students

Convenor - 2026 All Schools Netball Challenge
Schools in Action is seeking a Convenor for the 2026 National All Schools Netball Challenge to be held at the Coomera Indoor Sports Centre, Queensland.
Dates: Sunday 30 August – Wednesday 2 September 2026
Hours: Sunday 4:00pm - 6:30pm
Monday 8:30am - 4:00pm
Tuesday 1:00pm - 4:30pm
Wednesday 8:30am - 4:00pm
Location: Coomera, Queensland
About the Role:

Strong leadership skills
-
Strong organisational and communication skills to manage and schedule umpires, scorers and tech officials during the Challenge.

A strong understanding of netball rules, codes of conduct and competition structure for officiating any disputes.

Represent Schools In Action in a professional and welcoming manner

Current Working with Children card

Experience in netball management
A paid position the successful applicant will receive an official Challenge polo shirt.
A donation of $10 will also be given to a netball organisation of your choice.

Umpires & Scorers - 2026 All Schools Netball Challenge
Schools in Action is seeking umpires, scorers and timekeepers for the 2026 National All Schools Netball Challenge to be held at the Coomera Indoor Sports Centre, Queensland.
Dates: Sunday 30 August – Wednesday 2 September 2026
Hours: Sunday 4:00pm - 5:00pm
Monday 8:30am - 4:00pm
Tuesday 1:00pm - 4:30pm
Wednesday 8:30am - 4:00pm
Location: Coomera, Queensland
About the Role:
- Umpires require at least a Level B badge qualification or are highly experienced in officiating junior games of a high-quality standard
- Tech officials sit with the Scorer in the allocated area and must remain in allocated area during intervals with the timing device and scoring device.
- Tech officials ensure that the score corresponds with the scoresheet at the end of each quarter.
- The Scorer sits with the Tech official in the allocated area and must remain in allocated area during intervals with the scoring sheet.

The Scorer records each centre pass for each quarter.
