Schools across Australia gear up for competition in Bendigo
Schools from as far as Cairns are set to descend upon Bendigo next week, 21 to 23 August for a thrilling showcase of school sport at the 2023 National All Schools Netball Challenge. This inaugural event, organised by Schools in Action, is bringing together secondary school sport teams from all sectors of education – Government, Catholic and Independent. The Challenge, for Year 9/10 school teams will see the students participate in competition, as well as education programs over the three days.
Recognising the growing trend of high-performance school sporting programs across Australia, Schools in Action is at the forefront of introducing the National All Schools Sport Challenge program. This innovative initiative emerges from an increasing desire among high-performance schools who are seeking opportunities for their students to engage in competition with equal-skilled competitors to enhance their students’ athletic abilities.
The whistle will blow on the inaugural National All Schools Netball Challenge with an opening ceremony scheduled for 9:45 am. The competition will kick off at 11:00 am at the Red Energy Arena, with Bendigo's very own Catherine McAuley College and Bendigo Education - Athlete Development Program being the first to take to our main court in round 1.

Background Information
Schools in Action (SIA) began in 2020 by Michael Grant and Deneille Sutton. The directors have a passion for school sport believing that there needs to be more opportunities for students to participate in school sport at the secondary level. The aim of SIA is to promote and provide a diverse range of school sport events around Australia, delivering events at the international, national, state and regional level.
